Decks and patio covers on solid footings
A deck is a small structure with its own load path. We size the footings, the posts and the ledger connection to the house, then build the surface.
Footings and posts
Each post sits on a footing sized for the load and the soil. We dig, set the hardware and pour so the posts stay plumb and the deck stays level.
The ledger connection
Where a deck attaches to the house, the ledger board is bolted to the house framing and flashed so water cannot rot it. A failed ledger can bring the whole deck down, so we build it exactly to the plans.
Surface, rails and covers
Decking, stairs and railings go on after the frame is inspected. Patio covers are framed to carry their own roof and attached the same careful way.
